New Acute Hospital at Enniskillen - May 2009
Tughans Solicitors, Northern Ireland’s largest commercial law firm, advised the Northern Ireland Health Group (NIHG) on the NI law aspects of its successful bid for the design, build and operation of the £267M new acute South West Hospital at Enniskillen which has now reached financial close. Tughans acted in support of K&L Gates of London, whose team was led by Cathy Harris, Head of Projects at K&L Gates.
The team at Tughans was led by John-George Willis, Head of Projects supported by Laura McIldowney, Associate Director, Corporate and Fearghal O’Loan, Director on the banking aspects. The various property and land law issues were dealt with by Tracey Schofield, a Partner in the Property Department.
Speaking earlier, John-George Willis said, ‘We were delighted to have been involved in this project, Northern Ireland’s largest healthcare PFI/PPP project to date. Tughans also acted as the lead legal adviser to the NIHG consortium on joint venture/shareholder issues.’ He continued, ‘We are pleased that financial close has now taken place and we look forward to continuing our relationship with NIHG as construction of the new hospital gets underway.’
