Apprenticeships At Tughans

Tughans was established in 1896 and is today Northern Ireland's largest commercial law firm. With its principal office in Belfast, the firm also has offices in Lurgan and in Derry. Tughans currently employs more than 125 staff of whom 55 are solicitors.

1. Application Procedures for IPLS

The closing date for receipt of completed applications for 2008 - 2010 was 5.00p.m. on Friday 28th March 2008. The company will shortly be commencing the recruitment process and we will be in contact with all applicants in due course.

Offers of apprenticeship will be conditional upon obtaining a place at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies.

Successful candidates normally commence their Training Contract on the first Monday in September.

2. Application Procedures for LPC

Tughans is also authorised by the Law Society of England and Wales to provide training to students who have completed the Legal Practice Course. This enables students to qualify as solicitors in the jurisdiction of England and Wales.

We are no longer accepting applications for training contracts commencing in early 2008. However, we will regularly update this website with regard to applications for future LPC intakes.
