Environmental Highlights

• Advising corporate client on the acquisition of a concrete products manufacturing business comprised on a 72 acre site on environmental impact, local authority consents and licences. 

• Subsequently advised client on the purchase of a geotechnical site investigation operation with on-site soil-testing laboratories located in a 5,000 square feet industrial building.

• Advising purchaser of a coach hiring company on the environmental issues associated with the storage and refuelling of vehicles on its coach parks.

• Advising existing client on corporate liability arising from use of sites for unlawful landfill.

• Defence advice in a number of prosecutions relating to effluent discharge brought against an agricultural corporate client.

• Acting in the defence of a significant personal injury claim arising out of alleged manganese poisoning on behalf of Royal & Sun Alliance. The live case involves complex liability and quantum issues.

• Providing advice to a plastics manufacturer in relation to the use of certain polymers used in the manufacturing process and advice in relation to the defence of a claim for oil spillage and bioremediation.

• Acting in the defence of a significant claim for damages and an injunction against a concrete manufacturer arising out of alleged noise, dust and vibration pollution.
