The Department of the Environment is committed to the encouragement of economic development in a manner compatible with sound environmental objectives. The Department will therefore weigh the potential benefits of any proposal against its potential environmental impact.

An Environmental Statement may be required from you to help the Department in its decisionmaking process. You should be aware that where permission is granted, conditions could be imposed to minimize environmental impact.
