Stuart graduated from Queen's University Belfast with a 2:1 (LLB) degree in Law in 1997 and subsequently with a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Management in 1998. He then went on to study at the KPMG Tax Business School in London before working in the Tax Departments of KPMG in Glasgow and Belfast and the Corporate Tax Department of Ernst & Young in Belfast. Stuart is a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians, the Chartered Institute of Taxation and qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2003. Stuart is also a member of the Company Commercial Lawyers Group and the Association of Partnership Practitioners He qualified as a solicitor in 2004 with another Belfast firm and worked as a solicitor in its commercial department before joining Tughans in 2005. Working in the firm's Corporate Department, Stuart is involved in mergers and acquisitions, company restructuring, partnership law and advising on the terms of a range of commercial agreements including Limited Liability Partnership Agreements and Partnership Agreements. He has experience in tax, commercial property, partnership law, corporate security and general commercial work. |
