Killian Margey graduated from NUI Galway with a BA (Hons) in 1992 and with an LLB (Hons) in 1995. He gained experience working for a number of international law firms in Europe, the European Commission in Brussels and for a large multinational's in-house legal department in the United States. Killian joined the corporate department of Tughans in October 2003 from William Fry Solicitors, Tughans' associate firm in Dublin, becoming a Partner in April 2006. He has responsibility for the day-to-day running of the firm's Derry office and is dual qualified to practice in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Killian specialises in corporate law having advised a large number of technology and early stage/start-up companies. He also works in areas of funding (acting for both companies and venture capitalists), mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings and general corporate compliance matters.

Chambers 2008 has rated Killian as being "extremely helpful".
