Andrew graduated in Law from Queen’s University, Belfast in 1988.  He joined Tughans in 2004.  Following qualification Andrew worked in England for six years, initially in the commercial litigation department at Bevan Ashford and thereafter in the professional negligence department of Le Brasseurs.

He returned to Northern Ireland in 1996 and has continued to practice in the areas of professional negligence and commercial litigation.  He has a substantial caseload in medical/dental malpractice.  He represents doctors and dentists in negligence actions, at professional disciplinary hearings (GMC/GDC), at coroner's inquests, at public inquiries and before the criminal courts.

Andrew is described as ‘impressive and tactically astute’ in Chambers 2008 and is recognised as a leader in the fields of professional discipline (UK wide) and in clinical negligence, defence (Northern Ireland).
