Sarah initially trained in a Belfast firm in corporate and commercial law before moving to Tughans. Sarah has worked exclusively in the Healthcare since joining Tughans as a solicitor in September 2020 and is qualified in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Since then, she has represented doctors and dentists in defending high value clinical negligence claims, as well as fitness to practice proceedings brought by their regulatory bodies and internal investigations where there have been allegations of gross misconduct and dishonesty.
Sarah has experience of Public Inquiries having acted within a wider Tughans team on behalf of a Core Participant to the Urology Services Inquiry in Northern Ireland. She has also acted on behalf of a number Northern Ireland doctors in respect of the Neurology Inquiry who were required to produce evidence for the Inquiry.
- Representing healthcare professionals in investigations before the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service, General Medical Council, and the General Dental Council.
- Sarah was a member of the wider Tughans team who represented a number of doctors involved in the Neurology Inquiry and the associated regulatory matters arising from same.
