Appointment of new Senior Partner at Tughans

Tughans, one of Northern Ireland’s leading commercial law firms, has announced the appointment of a new Senior Partner, Michael McCord. Michael has taken over the responsibilities of the role as Senior Partner from John-George Willis, who will remain with firm as a consultant in the Corporate team.

 

Michael, who leads the Commercial Dispute Resolution team is widely recognised throughout Northern Ireland as a market leading commercial litigator and has been a Partner with Tughans for 16 years.  He is ranked in band 1 by Chambers UK and Legal 500 and has been inducted into the Legal 500 Hall of Fame. With over 20 years’ experience practising construction law, Michael is ranked as a leading expert in construction disputes.

 

On his appointment Michael said: “I am delighted to be joining Managing Partner Patrick Brown in shaping the future vision of our firm.  We are an ambitious firm and aim to continue to grow in line with our clients’ needs and expectations. We need to remain agile and informed to ensure we can consistently deliver for our clients and I look forward to playing my part in delivering this excellence.”

Tughans will continue to benefit from John-George’s expertise, as he hands over the leadership role of the award-winning Corporate Department to Partner James Donnelly.
