Tughans expands legal team

Tughans has significantly expanded its legal team with the appointment of 13 new members of staff.

Managing Partner Patrick Brown, said that significant continued growth in the firm’s corporate and commercial portfolio has necessitated the recruitment drive.  “2018 has been extremely strong for the firm in terms of corporate transactions, building on last year’s performance which saw us continue our first-place ranking as Northern Ireland’s leading legal advisor in the annual Experian report.  To ensure we consistently provide service excellence to our clients we need to have the right people with the right experience in place, which this latest recruitment drive has helped us deliver.

With over 15 years’ experience in commercial property law, Graham Ord has been appointed a Director in the Private Client department which will also welcome Abigail Cairnduff as a paralegal.

The Corporate department will increase its headcount with the addition of four associate solicitors – Cassie McCormick, Aimee Craig, Brendan Donnelly and Maria Walsh.  They will work alongside award winning Partners Ciara Lagan who was recently named Dealmaker of the Year and John McGuckian, winner of the title Young Dealmaker of the Year.

Ashley Montgomery joins the firm as a compliance executive and Grace Burns as a paralegal both in the Insurance Litigation department whilst Karen McKenna will take up the position of management accountant.

Patrick Brown continues, “Our firm is focused on developing high quality talent and our dedicated trainee programme helps us deliver this. We are delighted to welcome Jonathan Ross, Jonathan Burden, Aoife Quinn and Orla Drayne into the programme this year.  These highly talented and ambitious trainees bring a fresh perspective and energy to the firm which will ultimately benefit our clients.”
