Our legal trainees Ellen Forester and Nicola Coghlan are heading off to Canada to represent Northern Ireland after winning a contest held at Law Society House in Belfast.

The two trainees from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies (IPLS) have triumphed in the regional heat of the Louis M. Brown and Forrest S. Mosten International Client Consultation Competition.

The annual competition, which is organised and hosted by the Law Society of Northern Ireland, included teams from the School of Law at Ulster University and Queens University and the Institute of Professional Legal Studies and the Graduate School of Professional Legal Education.

Kathy McGillie, Partner, Tughans said: ‘We are delighted that Ellen and Nicola have triumphed in the regional heat of this competition and we wish them every success at the finals in Canada. We encourage all our trainees to develop their skills and this is a fantastic opportunity for Ellen and Nicola.’

Ms Forester and Ms Coghlan will now go on to represent Northern Ireland in the international finals to be held in Canada in April 2016.
