Once again the conference provided an opportunity for high potential companies and those shaping Northern Ireland’s corporate finance sector to network, and discuss the opportunities and challenges they face.
The tone of the conference was very positive, with venture capital funds from England, Scotland and Ireland discussing their successful investments in Northern Irish companies and their aspirations to invest more in the region.
This year’s key speakers, Paul Millar, Chief Investment Officer of Whiterock Capital Partners the manager of the Invest NI backed Growth Loan Fund, and Pete Smyth, Chief Executive of Dublin based venture capital fund Broadlake Capital, both spoke of the quality of local businesses and underscored the need for management teams to have confidence in their ability to obtain finance and grow Northern Ireland’s SMEs. Kevin Kingston, Managing Director of Business and Corporate Banking at Danske Bank also spoke of Danske Bank being very much “open for business” in Northern Ireland.
