Tughans team concludes BGF’s Decora £10m Investment

A cross-specialism team of Tughans lawyers has successfully concluded a £10m investment by its client BGF in Lisburn-based Decora. Decora produces a range of standardised and bespoke products including blinds and shutters and employs more than 1,000 staff.

The Tughans team led by Corporate team members John McGuckian and Paul O’Brien together with Cassie McCormick was joined by Paul Eastwood from Contracts and Technology, Rachel Richardson from Employment and Colm Fitzpatrick from Real Estate.

John McGuckian noted that the investment aims to help the Lisburn company consolidate its position in the European market.

“This ambitious firm was considered by BGF as a winning combination of efficiency, strong growth record and a highly motivated and experienced leadership team and we were delighted to help BGF on its investment”.

The funding will be used to support its continued strong growth via expansion into European markets, strategic acquisitions, and continued investment in product development and infrastructure.

Marking its initial entry into Europe, Decora has already completed the acquisition of Domus Lumina, a €10m-turnover Lithuanian-headquartered manufacturing partner.

BGF was established in 2011 to help Britain’s growing smaller and medium sized businesses. Backed by five of the UK’s main banking groups – Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, RBS and Standard Chartered – BGF is an independent company with up to £2.5bn with which to make long-term equity investments.  BGF also works closely with other key business organisations.
