Ellen is a Law and politics graduate from Queen’s University Belfast and spent a year studying business at Nebraska Wesleyan University as part of scholarship with British Council. Ellen joined Tughans dispute resolution team in 2013 as a paralegal and commenced her training contract with Tughans in 2014. During her training contract, Ellen represented Northern Ireland at the International client consultation competition in Canada.  Ellen qualified into the dispute resolution team as a solicitor in 2016.

 

Ellen is qualified to practice in the Republic of Ireland having worked for a leading law firm in Dublin and is experienced in representing clients in commercial disputes in Circuit and High Court. She was also a secondee to Permanent tsb in Dublin as in-house counsel in 2019.

 

Ellen has broad experience advising clients in a range of commercial disputes, with a particular focus on shareholder disputes, contract disputes, property litigation and product liability claims. Ellen is part of the insolvency team and frequently advises insolvency practitioners, financial institutions, directors and creditors on all issues relating to both corporate and personal insolvency.

 

Ellen is a committee member of the Northern Ireland Young Solicitors Association and Young Leaders Northern Ireland.
