Tughans advises the Camlin Group on sale to Siemens Energy

Tughans has advised the Camlin Group on its sale to Siemens Energy.

Headquartered in Lisburn, the Camlin Group is a specialist in grid monitoring, data analytics and asset digitalisation technologies. The business employs approximately 650 people and operates across the UK, Europe, North America, Australia and Asia, with annual turnover of more than £90 million.

The transaction will see Siemens Energy acquire Camlin Group, supporting the continued development of its digital grid portfolio, including sensor-based monitoring and software enabled grid intelligence.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close before the end of 2026.

James Donnelly, Head of Corporate at Tughans, said:

“We are very pleased to have advise the Camlin Group on this transaction, a client we have worked closely with for over 20 years (and having previously advised on the sale of the Kelman business to General Electric in 2008). This is an extremely significant transaction for Northern Ireland which will undoubtedly lead to high value job creation and it reflects continued international interest in locally owned companies who have established themselves as experts in their field on an international basis”

The Corporate team was led by James Donnelly, Head of Corporate, with support from Ben Sims, Corporate Partner and Laura McGuckin, Associate Solicitor, alongside a team of lawyers across the firm’s corporate and specialist practice areas.
