Tughans advises Belfast accountancy firm Muldoon on strategic transaction with Azets

Tughans has advised Belfast accountancy and advisory firm Muldoon on its agreement to join international accountancy and business advisory group Azets.

The transaction will see Muldoon become part of the Azets group and rebrand as Azets on completion, marking a significant step in the firm’s ongoing development.

Operating for over 40 years, Muldoon provides accounting, audit, tax and advisory services to a diverse client base of more than 860 organisations across a range of sectors. The business employs over 40 people and is led by partners Sean Muldoon, Raymond Tiffney and Robbie Barr. The existing leadership team will remain with the business following completion, ensuring continuity for clients and staff.

As part of Azets, Muldoon will have access to broader specialist expertise and increased resources, while maintaining its established client relationships and approach.

The Tughans legal team was led by John McGuckian working with Joshua Hunter, Brendan Donnelly, Donna Parker (Corporate) supported by Fearghal O’Loan and Lucy Scott (Banking and Finance) and Patricia Rooney and Emma Doherty (Employment).

John McGuckian commented:
“This transaction marks an important milestone for Muldoon. We were pleased to support the shareholders through the process and to help deliver this outcome for the business.”
